Description
The Adult Care/Assisted Living population continues to evolve and residents are less mobile and at a higher level of acuity than ever before. This population presents more consistent, ongoing challenges with skin integrity and wound care. Additionally, the decrease in mobility has led to many events of skin breakdown and pressure ulcers.

This session will be provided by two Registered Nurses and will focus on managing skin integrity and the provision of wound care.

Topics will include:
• Monitoring Skin Integrity
• Incontinence Management
• Unmanaged Incontinence
• Resistance to Care and Noncompliance
• Communicating Changes
• Wound Management by Third-party Providers
• Wound Management in the EALR
• Interventions and Mitigation Efforts
• Case Management and Documentation
