Pandemic or not, the Department of Health has made it known that CEU requirements (60 every 2 years) are currently not being changed or relaxed at all.  ESAAL is here to help by bringing the education to you!  Webinars are open to ESAAL members & non-members alike.

Best Practices - Resident Assessment in ALPs: How to Achieve Appropriate Fiscal Outcomes

This session will review the requirements for Resident Assessment in the ALP and how completion of the UAS is critical to identifying both the care needs of the clients being served and designation of the appropriate RUG reimbursement level.  The session will discuss the various arrangements for the completion of the UAS, including internal staff or LHCSAs nurses as well as highlighting the positives and risks of each arrangement. We will discuss the UAS items that are most frequently miscoded and the potential impact to the RUG reimbursement. Examples of how ALPS may track the assessment and payment flow will be discussed so that participants can develop theiinternal monitoring activity.

Objective of Session:  At the conclusion of the session, participants will have an understanding of the value of the UAS process and how to evaluate and monitor their own Assessment process.
